Dear jazz friends!
FREE CONCERTS AT THE JAZZ FESTIVAL!
Why not take along some friends who are not yet familiar with the world of jazz? Here are some tips on tasters and concerts the jazz festival is offering in collaboration with Musik i Syd and Ystad Municipality. Free admission!
Concert in support of Ukraine
We get off to an early start on 2 August at 11.00 and invite you to Saluhallen for a concert by the Österlen band, Blue Light Jazzband. Admission is free, but it is hoped that audience members will contribute to raising funds for children in Ukraine. Our collaboration partners, Save the Children Ystad and Ystad S:t Petri Rotary Club, will ensure that the funds get to where they are needed!

Next Jazz Generation
This wonderful generation of young musicians has studied music at municipal music schools, folk high schools and academies of music. We are pleased to present tomorrow’s Swedish jazz musicians!
All concerts are in the beautiful cobbled courtyard at Hos Mortens Café.

Jam session
This year the jam session is at Bar & Brygga in Ystad’s Marina, a stone’s throw from the theatre. The house band is Sven Erik Lundeqvist (piano), Simon Petersson (bass) and Zoltán Csörz (drums). And, our highly popular jam session often attracts a selection of the artists from the day’s concerts!

The Jazz Committee
Auction!
Jazzartist 2023, Karl Valve, has donated the original work of art ”Reflections of Jazz” to the jazz festival.
Format 87 x 125 cm. Photo transfer on plexiglass mounted on polished aluminium, which creates a three-dimensional effect.
The auction ends at Saturday 5 Aug at 20.00.
