Kära jazzvänner!

Årets festival blir den 15:e festivalen i ordningen och det vill vi fira med er!

Festivalen börjar som vanligt en onsdag, den 31 juli, men för att fira litet extra förlänger vi festivalen till och med söndagen den 4 augusti.  

Redan nu börjar vi med att presentera årets Yazzkonstnär!

 Birgitta Glenmark

 ”Mitt måleri är abstrakt. Färg och Form. Lager på lager. Ljust och mörkt. Tunna transparanta färgfält som får sprida sig över duken. Tidigare lager bestämmer formen för nästa lager. Den kreativa processen kan ta olika vägar. Bildmappen i huvudet fylls ständigt på.” Så beskriver årets jazzkonstnär Birgitta Glenmark sitt konstnärskap.

 Birgitta Glenmark bor och arbetar i Stockholm men besöken i Ystad hör sommaren till. 

Birgitta har ställt ut på gallerier runtom i Sverige och Danmark. Musiken är ständigt närvarande hos familjen Glenmark. Vid sidan av konstnärskapet arbetar Birgitta som handkirurg.

 ”Bluesette”

Känns introt i bilden igen? Birgitta har döpt årets konstverk till ”Bluesette” och skänkt det till festivalen. Verket är akryl på duk och har formatet 69 x 73 cm. 

Originalet kan bli ditt! Det auktioneras ut under festivaldagarna via ystadjazz.se 

Auktionen avslutas på Ystads Teater lö 3/8 kl. 20:00. 

 Konstutställning på Gallery M1 i Ystad

Birgitta Glenmark ställer ut på Gallery M1, på Hotell Continental du Sud, den 24/7–4/8. ”Bluesette” visas också på utställningen. Välkommen på vernissage den 24/7 kl 17.00-20.00.

Dear jazz friends!

This year's festival will be the 15th festival in a row and we want to celebrate that with you!

The festival starts as usual on a Wednesday, July 31st, but to celebrate a little extra we are extending the festival until Sunday, August 4th.

Already now we start by presenting this year's Yazz artist!

This year’s Jazz Artist, Birgitta Glenmark, describes her creative method:

“My paintings are abstract. Colour and form. Layer upon layer. Light and dark. Thin transparent fields of colour that are allowed to spread over the canvas. Earlier layers decide the form of the next layer. The creative process can take different paths. The mind’s image file is continually replenished.” 

Birgitta Glenmark lives and works in Stockholm, but visits to Ystad are part of the summer. Birgitta has exhibited at galleries in Sweden and Denmark. Music is a constant presence in the Glenmark family. Alongside her artistry, Birgitta works as a hand surgeon.

“Bluesette”

Does the intro in the painting look familiar? Birgitta has titled this year’s artwork “Bluesette” and donated it to the festival. The painting is acrylic on canvas and the dimensions are 69 x 73 cm. 

The original could be yours! It will be auctioned during the festival via ystadjazz.se 

The auction concludes at Ystads Teater on Saturday 3 August at 20.00. 

Exhibition at Gallery M1 in Ystad

Birgitta Glenmark will be exhibiting at Gallery M1, Hotell Continental du Sud, from 24 July to 4 August. “Bluesette” will be part of the exhibition. Welcome to the preview on 24 July from 17.00 to 20.00.
