This concert focuses on the music of the great American jazz pianist and composer Bill Evans (1929-1980). Bill Evans was the pianist on the Miles Davis album “Kind of Blue” (1959) – the best-selling jazz album of all time – and a key figure in the evolution of the jazz piano trio – piano, bass and drums.

Jan Lundgren describes Bill Evans as “one of my most important influences when I started to play jazz” and has put together a special piano trio for this concert with Swedish bassist Anders Jormin and the highly regarded German drummer Wolfgang Haffner.

The concert will feature music associated with Bill Evans like the “Theme from MASH (Suicide is Painless)” as well as his famous compositions including “Very Early” and “Waltz for Debby”.
