Magnus Lindgren – saxophone, clarinet, flute
Musica Vitae

This concert is a fascinating first meeting between Swedish multi-instrumentalist Magnus Lindgren and chamber orchestra Musica Vitae as they unveil their new musical collaboration at YSJF.

Multi-instrumentalist Magnus Lindgren has been described by Dagens Nyheter as “Europe’s best jazz flautist”. He has collaborated with artists such as Herbie Hancock Gregory Porter and Bobby McFerrin. In recent years, he has worked with American pianist John Beasley on albums such as “Butterfly Effect” (2024).

Musica Vitae, a chamber orchestra formed in 1980, has developed into one of Sweden’s leading string ensembles. In collaborative projects, the orchestra has ventured into areas such as newly composed experimental music, jazz and popular music. Over the years, the ensemble has presented around 250 new musical works.
