Rosario Giuliani (IT) – alto and soprano sax
Luciano Biondini (IT) – accordion
A late-night cinematic music concert in the atmospheric setting of Ystad Abbey provides the perfect soundtrack to round off the first day of the festival.
The concert draws on the album “Cinema Italia” (2016) by Rosario Giuliani, Luciano Biondini, Michele Rabbia and Enzo Pietropaoli. It is a celebration of Italian movie themes featuring “8 ½”, “Once Upon a Time in the West”, “La Dolce Vita” and “Cinema Paradiso” among others. The album also has two original tracks composed by tonight’s duo Rosario Giuliani and Luciano Biondini.
Saxophonist Rosario Giuliani is no stranger to the world of film – he has worked with Ennio Morricone and played on numerous movie soundtracks.
Luciano Biondini is a highly sought-after accordionist who plays jazz and folk. He performed with Andreas Schaerer at a memorable YSJF concert in 2018.
