American vocalist Stacey Kent, widely recognised as one of the world’s best jazz singers, is known for her elegant interpretations of American, Brazilian and French classics.
During a career spanning over 25 years, Stacey Kent has sold over two million albums. The latest is ”Songs from Other Places” (2021) with American jazz pianist Art Hirahara. “I Know I Dream: The Orchestral Sessions” (2017) contains well-known bossa nova songs, French chansons and American standards. It also features new material by her husband, the English tenor saxophonist and band colleague Jim Tomlinson.
They are joined at YSJF by the Claes Crona Trio. Claes Crona has been a leading international pianist since his group’s residency at the Nalen club in Stockholm in the 1960s. In the 1980s, he took part in what he describes as “the tour of my life” with Benny Goodman and Svend Asmussen.
