Saturday at Charlottenlund concludes with a tribute to the musician, songwriter and music producer Quincy Jones (1933-2024) featuring songs from his long career.

This finale links back to the “Quincy Jones Celebration” at YSJF in 2012, a concert where Quincy Jones conducted the Bohuslän Big Band for two classic songs “Midnight Sun Never Sets” and “Stockholm Sweetnin’”. Quincy Jones became a Lifetime Honorary Ambassador of the festival in 2012.

The Bohuslän Big Band, which Quincy Jones described as “a world class jazz orchestra” will be performing with three outstanding soloists. Trombonist Nils Landgren and vocalist Viktoria Tolstoy were also part of the star-studded line-up in Ystad 13 years ago and are joined by pianist Ida Sand to celebrate Quincy Jones and his enormous impact on the world of music.
