In her latest project, Swedish vocalist Vivian Buczek revisits her early musical influences – jazz, blues and swing.
As the daughter of two jazz musicians, Vivian Buczek grew up in a home permeated by music, particularly the Polish and Swedish jazz traditions. She has established a solo singing career with a string of albums from “Can’t We Be Friends?” (2003) to “A Woman’s Voice” (2019).
On this journey back to her musical roots, she is joined by a group of international musicians including one of the world’s leading saxophone players, Seamus Blake. A long-time member of the Mingus Big Band, he has played with jazz luminaries such as John Scofield and Avishai Cohen, and released albums since the 1990s including “Guardians of the Heart Machine” (2019).
The quintet will be playing material from the forthcoming album “Roots!”, which will be released in the autumn.
