He was mentored by Swedish jazz greats such as saxophonist Arne Domnerus and in turn has acted as mentor for many young talents\, helping to renew Swedish jazz. \nThe Malmö Academy of Music Chamber Choir is led by conductor Mats Paulson\, a senior lecturer in choral conducting at the Academy. The 25 members of the choir are all Academy students.

His musical range is evident from 15 albums as a leader\, from “East Coast Love Affair” (1996) to “The Brahms Project (2025). \nThe New York Times described Kurt Rosenwinkel as “a relentless explorer” who “has staked out a singular position in jazz’s firmament as a player\, composer\, and bandleader with a vast and supremely sophisticated harmonic vision and melodic sensibility.”

JazzTimes described him as “the greatest living jazz pianist born outside the United States.” \nBobo Stenson became established on the Stockholm jazz scene in the 1960s. He collaborated with Jan Garbarek in the 1970s and during the 1990s recorded albums with artists such as Charles Lloyd and Tomasz Stańko. \nThe current Bobo Stenson Trio\, with members Anders Jormin on bass and Jon Fält on drums\, has been together since 2008. The trio has recorded several albums including their most recent release\, “Sphere” (2023)\, which Jazzwise summed up as “a powerful introspective album that draws us into a world of intense mutual concentration\, with many moments of astonishing lyrical beauty.”

The band recorded two highly varied cover albums “Magnus Carlson & The Moon Ray Quintet” (2009) and “Echoes” (2010). \nAfter a hiatus of 15 years\, Magnus Carlson & The Moon Ray Quintet returned for their third album “Shadows” (2025). And the selection of song sources is as diverse as ever\, from Al Jolson and Sufjan Stevens to Scott Walker and David Bowie.

The multiple Latin Grammy-winning musician is the most-recorded Brazilian artist living abroad. His songs have been covered by a multitude of international stars over the years\, such as Sarah Vaughan\, George Benson\, Ella Fitzgerald\, Quincy Jones\, Barbra Streisand and Sting. \nIvan Lins initially attracted attention with his first hit composition “Madalena”\, recorded by Elis Regina in 1970. He is a prolific songwriter and has recorded over 40 albums. Several of his compositions have become jazz standards including “Love Dance”\, “Velas Içadas” and “Começar de Novo” (Starting Over)\, a song that in the English lyric version is called “The Island”.

She toured Scandinavia as a teenager with a country & western group\, had her first pop hit in 1996 and represented Sweden in the 1998 Eurovision Song Contest.
