The printed Festival programme is here!
The printed festival programme has arrived! It offers 40 pages of information about all the summer festival artists, concerts, the Yazz Parade, fanfare from the church tower, Guest of Honour, Jazz Artist, Jazz Ambassadors and all those who support the festival in some way.
There are also details about the Next Jazz Generation bands, JazzKidz and other free events.
The festival programme will be distributed throughout Ystad-Österlen. Would you like the programme delivered to your home? You can Swish the postage, SEK 30, to Ystad Sweden Jazz 123 107 74 86. Remember to include your postal address.
The programme is also available via ystadjazz.se, as a PDF, and via the YstadJazz app.
Ticket sales situation
If you have not yet thought about booking tickets, don’t wait too long!
This is the current situation for concerts at Ystads Teater:
* Jan Garbarek Group – only five seats available
* Lill Lindfors and Nils Landgren with Bohuslän Big Band – a few seats available
There are still good seats available for the following excellent concerts:
* Kyle Eastwood Quintet – featuring soundtrack music from jazz enthusiast Clint Eastwood’s films. Clint was invited to Ystad but could not attend due to commitments shooting a new movie!
* Marcin Wasilewski All Stars – a tribute to Krzysztof Komeda, whose work includes compositions for Roman Polanski’s major films
* Jan Lundgren and Hans Backenroth – beautiful and melodic music from the album “Jazz Poetry”
* Deborah Brown with Jan Lundgren Trio – Jan’s trio with Mattias Svensson on bass and Zoltán Csörsz on drums join Deborah Brown to delve into the “The Great American Songbook”
Bill Charlap Trio by Keith Major
Very good seats are available for:
* Bill Charlap Trio – Bill Charlap has played with giants such as Tony Bennett, Gerry Mulligan, Phil Woods and Wynton Marsalis. He is a Grammy winner and has recorded albums with music by Hoagy Carmichael, Leonard Bernstein and George Gershwin. And now he is coming to Ystad! Don’t miss it!
* Marilyn Mazur’s Shamania “Shamania is a breath of fresh air, musically and geographically, crossing borders with energy that could power at least a medium-sized Swedish city” – from a review in Orkesterjournalen
And remember to tell your friends. Perhaps these concerts can open up a new world of music? Many people like music but may not realise that what they like listening to is actually jazz.
We will update you about other concerts later when we see that tickets are becoming scarce at the various venues.
