Dear Jazz Friends!
Just three weeks until the festival!
Saturday 2 August at Charlottenlund
Don’t miss a delightful afternoon and evening in the castle park at Charlottenlund!
This year we have two stages so there will only be short breaks between the concerts.
Seating
It is possible to book a seat in front of the main stage, or you can take your own chair or blanket to sit on. You are welcome to bring your own picnic to enjoy in the park.
Doors open at 14.00, the programme of concerts begins at 15.00 and the event is scheduled to conclude at around 19.30.
Getting to Charlottenlund
There are many ways to get to Charlottenlund:
By bike
Ride on the beautiful cycle path from Ystad by the coast and road 9 to 1 km west of Svarte and take the turn-off to Charlottenlund.
By train
Take the train to Svarte Station. Then take a 30-minute walk through the village and on the Kärleksstigen path, which leads to the castle park. The path will be signposted from the station.
By Jazzbus
Take the Jazzbus from Ystad Station. The Jazzbus stop is on Hamntorget between the station building and the Bornholm ferry terminal.
Bus departures are at 13.45 and 14.15. The return trip to Ystad is after the final concert at around 19.30. Bus tickets must be bought in advance via the website. Price: SEK 90 return.
By car
From the E65 take the Marsvinsholm turn-off towards Svarte.
From the coast road (road 9), take the turn off 1 km west of Svarte.
Parking
There are three car parks:
Car parks A1 and A2 are adjacent to the castle park. The parking fee is SEK 120, which is purchased in conjunction with buying the Charlottenlund day ticket. There are a limited number of parking spaces.
Car park B is just west of Svarte along the coast road – free parking. There is a 20-minute walk along the Kärleksstigen path to the castle park.
The concerts
15.00: LaGaylia Soul feat. Jonas Kullhammar kicks off the programme on the main stage. Besides Jonas Kullhammar on saxophone, LaGaylia has lined up Anneli Axon (backing vocals), Markus Linnell Zovic (keyboards), Anders Augustsson (guitar), Christopher Ek (bass), Rubens Millet Herrera (percussion) and Magnus Höglund (drums). Dancing may be difficult to resist!
16.30: Karin Tingne with Big Blowin´Band perform on the new castle terrace stage.
Karin is well-known in southern Sweden for a great singing voice that encompasses soul, gospel, rock and blues. Big Blowin´Band is a big band from Ystad with a repertoire rooted in classic big band music. They have collaborated with Isabella Lundgren, Vivian Buczek, Peter Asplund, Filip Jers and many more. Playing for the first time at YSJF!
18.00: A tribute to the festival’s Honorary Ambassador “To Quincy with Love”.
Just as in 2012, when Quincy Jones visited the festival, today’s concert features Nils Landgren, Viktoria Tolstoy and the Bohuslän Big Band, with the addition this year of Ida Sand. And just as in 2012, the concert is presented by our Jazz Ambassador Anne Lundberg. In connection with the concert, Nils Landgren will be named as the festival’s new Honorary Ambassador!

Art poster 2025 – Peter Apelgren
Peter Apelgren has appeared on popular Swedish TV programmes such as Musikfrågan Kontrapunkt and På Spåret. He has created this year’s art poster in the spirit of Toulouse-Lautrec. Printed on art paper in a 500 x 700 mm format.
The art poster for 2025 and for previous years can be purchased during the festival at the JazzShop.
Auction of Peter Apelgren’s original painting
The original painting is a work in oil pastels. The framed original will be auctioned during the festival via Auction – Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival
The auction concludes on 2 August at 18.00, just before the last concert starts.
