Ystad Jazz Piano Award
In 2021 the Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival established the Ystad Jazz Piano Award.

The award consists of a concert performance, including fee, and a scholarship worth SEK 25 000.
The recipient of the award is to be a young, talented pianist at the start on their career.

Danish pianist Zier Romme, the winner of the first award in 2021, played a sold-out concert at Saluhall during the summer festival.

Recipient of the Ystad Jazz Piano Award 2022
The young Icelandic pianist Anna Gréta Sigurdardóttir has been named as the recipient of the Ystad Jazz Piano Award 2022.
“Anna Gréta is one of the major new talents in Scandinavian jazz. With her personal, affective style and highly individual way of creating music, Anna Gréta is definitely one for the future. She is a very worthy winner of the Ystad Jazz Piano Award 2022,” says Jan Lundgren, Artistic Director of the Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival.

The Anna Gréta Trio – Anna Gréta Sigurdardóttir (piano), Johan Tengholm (bass) and Konrad Agnas (drums) – will be playing music drawn from the album “Nightjar in the Northern Sky” (2021) at the Ystad Winter Piano Fest: 29 December, 15.00 at Ystad Saltsjöbad.

Anna Gréta Sigurdardottir was awarded the Monica Zetterlund Scholarship in 2019 and played at the Nobel Prize Award Ceremony in 2020.
