Facts
The 15th international jazz festival in Ystad is a five-day event: 31 July – 4 August.
A total of 37 concerts, a YAzz parade and the traditional festival fanfare from the church tower.

Ken Peplowski, Viktoria Tolstoy, Klas Lindqvist & Claes Crona Trio celebrate Putte Wickman, who would have been 100 this year. Ken Peplowski is widely regarded as the greatest living clarinettist!

The festival’s 15-year celebrations
The festival celebrates 15 editions with three concerts in the park at Charlottenlund Castle.
The castle is approximately 8 km west of central Ystad.
As this is a whole day in the park, food and drink will be on sale.

The “Garden Party” starts when the Icelandic jazz-funk band kick off the 15-year celebrations!

The grand finale of the 15-year celebrations and this year’s festival offers elegant big band jazz!
Tommy Körberg has been one of Sweden’s leading vocalists over a 50-year career in music.

The festival’s Artistic Director features in three concerts at the summer festival – with guitarist Yamandu Costa, in a two Steinway “Face to Face” concert with fellow pianist Lars Jansson, and in the “The World of Duke Ellington” concert at Charlottenlund.

Next Jazz Generation
There will be six concerts at Hos Morten Café showcasing the next generation of Swedish bands on the threshold of international careers. The concerts attract enthusiastic audiences and many reviewers. Free admission.

The festival continues to present fine free concerts for families and elderly care home residents.

Billy Cobham is this year’s Guest of Honour.
Gunhild Carling & Carling Family lead this year’s YAzzparad. Gunhild will also play the traditional festival fanfare from the tower of St. Mary’s church on the opening day.
Birgitta Glenmark is this year’s jazz artist and created the art poster/programme cover.
Göran Rosenberg, writer and journalist, is this year’s jazz ambassador along with Johanna Lind Bagge, influencer, blogger and business woman.
