We are pleased to announce that the prominent French pianist Grégory Privat will provide a fitting finale to the first day of the festival with a captivating contemplative solo piano concert in the atmospheric abbey setting of Klosterkyrkan. Born in Martinique, Grégory Privat’s music stems from a beguiling mix of Caribbean, classical and jazz sources. His latest album, the meditative and mesmerising “Yonn” (2022), effortlessly blends these influences together and forms the basis for this late-night concert.

YSJF is pleased to announce that the American bassist and composer Kyle Eastwood will be performing with his Quartet at the summer festival in Ystad on 3 August.
The son of film icon, Clint Eastwood, Kyle Eastwood inherited his father’s love of jazz and has released nine albums since the late 1990s, displaying a broad range of stylistic approaches.
Kyle Eastwood’s twin passions are jazz and cinema, and the concert in Ystad – “Eastwood by Eastwood” – will feature music from Clint Eastwood’s movies.
As a film composer, Kyle Eastwood has contributed to the soundtracks of films such as “Mystic River”, “Invictus” and “Grand Torino” and his album, “Cinematic” (2019) includes music from films such as “Bullit” and “Skyfall”.
In his latest project, he brings together his quintet and a full symphony orchestra to play themes from Clint Eastwood’s films, like the Sergio Leone’s spaghetti westerns and the Dirty Harry movies. The “Eastwood Symphonic” album will be released later this year.
Tickets for Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival 2-5 August go on sale preliminary on 30 March
