Nils Petter Molvær (NO) – trumpet, electronics

The world-famous Norwegian trumpeter, composer and producer Nils Petter Molvær presents his unique mix of swirling trumpet improvisation and innovative electronic backing at this late-night solo concert in the atmospheric setting of Ystad’s St Mary’s Church.
Nils Peter Molvær made his big breakthrough with “Khmer” (1997), a solo album that established him as a pioneer of future jazz – a blend of jazz and electronic music. He has continued to incorporate other musical genres that augment solo trumpet in a series of albums including “NP3” (2005) and “Baboon Moon” (2011). His latest release is “Khmer (Live in Bergen)” (2025).
In 2018, Nils Petter Molvær gave one of the most memorable performances in the history of the Ystad Sweden Jazz Festival with his solo sunrise concert at Ales Stenar.
